Hypnotherapy Topics There are many different occasions where hypnotherapy can be
a good approach. In most cases there are two separate types that are used:
suggestion therapy and analytical therapy. Each is different and helps people to
understand problems, empathise as well as encourage future change.
Some topics for which this treatment is used include:
Alcohol Problems Drug Addiction Anxiety Gambling Social Phobias Flying Fears Stress Confidence Insomnia Depression Anger Issues Panic Attacks Smoking Post-Traumatic Stress Weight Problems What is Hypnosis? The word hypnosis comes for the Greek word for sleep
(hypnos) and refers to a treatment which is used to help those with a variety
of issues. A trained therapist takes time to get to know a patient, the issues
they face, as well as what you want to achieve. Once an approach has been
established, they will help to place you into a relaxed and deep state.
There are several different approaches used and it will
depend on the therapist. The most popular method today follows four key stages.
These are relaxation, deepening, application of "suggestions", then a formal ending
and a return to full mental awareness. Therapy cannot force you to make a
change and instead guides a patient to make their own informed decisions on
what direction to go in.

About Thought Field Therapy As a more contemporary approach. TFT or Thought Field
Therapy is another method used to treat a large number of emotional states.
From anxiety and depression to addiction and phobias, there are many areas that
it can help with. American clinical psychologist Roger Callahan first used TFT
in the late 1970s, proposing it as a treatment in the 1980s. Since then it has
grown in popularity, helping many people to tackle their fears.
Following years of practice and research, TFT became a
formal method of therapy. I practice Thought
Field Therapy and use years of Accident and Emergency experience to help
patients with their own experiences of trauma.
